Congratulations to our judoka who took part in the 2019British University Championships! Zeynep Sun continued on her fine form to take gold in the ladies Kyu grade category and the British title!
Sam Charalambous stepped up in the men’s -73kg category, racking up 2 wins before unfortunately suffering a loss to take him out of the competition.
Nima Akbari and Karl Summerbell both put on a spirited performance however also walked away empty handed in the men’s -81kg and men’s -66kg Dan grade categories.
Nevertheless, a productive day for the team. Each loss is an education in itself and a stepping stone to further development. Well done to our judoka for taking the time to travel to Sheffield to represent their respective universities.
